Microsoft Windows Vista
As part of the massive pre-launch reseller training programme for Microsoft's Windows Vista, Channel Advantage was tasked with brining together three leading technology brands - Microsoft, Intel and HP - to create an informative scenario-based training
programme designed to revolutionise the way in which this innovative technology is
sold. The idea was to focos on benefits to the end-user rather than just features and price.
Staff from leading consumer electronics retailers (including PC World, Comet, Staples,
Micro Anvika and John Lewis) attended the training at Channel Advantage's
exclusive Retreat Technology Training Centre in Berkshire. Five key members of the Channel Events demonstration staff were selected to conduct the training over a seven-week period pre-Christmas. As well as creating the training programme and training the staff, Channel Advantage also managed, hosted and provided catering for the session.
In total 732 staff from seven retail groups and a number of selected distributors attended a full day interactive and hands-on training day focusing on Windows Vista and Office 2007; HP desktop, laptop and photo printers; and Intel Core 2 duo and Viiv platforms.
* 89% of attendees scored the day as "4 or 5 out of 5"
* 99% said they learnt something new about Vista, 96% about Office 2007, 86% about Intel Viiv and 55% about HP
* 97% said that the training "was better than in-store training".
